“I’ve had alopecia since I was three years old, so it’s been a long time.” It was always doable for me as I grew up with it. I just had [very little] spots, so I always covered them up. It was always a source of embarrassment for me. Even when I was in my twenties, few of my acquaintances were aware that I suffered from alopecia. I kept it a secret. I didn’t want to tell anyone because I didn’t want it to harm my career or my chances of being hired. As a result, I hid. I graduated from high school and found some nice jobs, but things began to deteriorate from there.”
