Antonella Nester, a former QVC host, bonds with her daughter over face masks and shares a touching story from her past that demonstrates her and her husband’s undying love for each other.

Antonella Nester

Antonella Nester made some lifestyle changes after being laid off as part of the 2020 QVC extensive programming overhaul. She and her husband, Chris Nester, sold their home and began living full-time on a boat. Antonella’s health deteriorated after she lost weight and was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

Living on a boat as part of a retirement plan was part of the plan.

QVC, the home shopping channel, let go of some of its fan-favorite hosts amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Antonella Nester was among them, along with Gabrielle Kerr, Stacey Stauffer, and Kristine Zell.
Antonella explained the reason for her departure in a Facebook post. She explained that it was because the recorded program was re-aired on QVC2. Only a week after it was announced that she would be leaving QVC, the popular host became vocal about her plans to live on a boat with her husband. On July 24, 2020, she announced on her YouTube channel that she had purchased a new ship – her new home. Her retirement “home” appeared to be an inch too small, lacking enough space to house the couple’s belongings. While the boat did appear disheveled in every way, another video from the host soothed everyone’s nerves.

In an October 14, 2020 video, the former QVC host appeared to be looking for a new boat. Antonella and her husband attempted to sell their belongings in order to purchase a new boat, which she confirmed via video on November 12, 2020. The video, titled ‘Goodbye home…selling our home,’ showed the exteriors and interiors of her home. After her fans expressed grave concerns about her living situation, she responded in a video posted a month later.
She revealed that she was unable to pay off her home’s mortgage due to her recent job loss and her husband’s inability to work. But why did she purchase the boat?

The host stated that the idea was not conceived on the spur of the moment; it was part of their 33-year retirement plan. And the fact that both of them lost their jobs only accelerated their plan. Her two sons, Michael and Philip, and daughter, Hope, appeared to be unaffected because they live independently.

In Ups and Downs, she co-starred with her husband, Chris Nester.

If the Nester family is having the best time of their lives right now, it is entirely due to Antonella and Chris’s difficulties. She shared a heartbreaking personal story with the QVC community in 2018. She revealed that when she and her husband were first married, they could barely make ends meet.

Once, after months of saving, the couple decided to purchase a bracelet that Antonella had her eye on. When they went to the shop, Chris noticed a watch beside a case and his face lit up with interest. When Chris saw the watch, he had the same glimmer in his eyes as when she saw the bracelet, according to Antonella. The watch was out of their price range; it cost the same as the bracelet: $150. Antonella decided not to buy the bracelet because Chris was always buying things for her and their children and never for himself. Instead, she chose to buy the watch for her husband. Chris, on the other hand, was adamant that she get the bracelet.

The former QVC host, who isn’t one to back down, argued with her husband. She then slipped the bracelet back into the storekeeper’s grasp and requested that the watch be finalized. The storekeeper, moved by the couple’s selfless love for each other, offered a 50 percent discount on both items. The couple were able to purchase both the bracelet and the watch as a result of the deal. Antonella went on to say that even though they had very little money left for the vacation, the gesture meant everything to them. She also stated that she and her husband still wear their gifts as proof of their selfless love.

Suffering from Weight Loss During Cancer Treatment

Antonella Nester has been open about her cancer battles with her fans, whom she refers to as “Bookers.” She had a nerve sheath tumor in her arm at first. Because it was determined to be a dead cyst by specialists, she underwent surgery to remove it in December 2020. A biopsy of the tumor revealed that it was malignant lymphoma.
On her birthday, January 20, 2021, she went to the Jefferson Cancer Institute to confirm her diagnosis.

She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, an incurable but treatable type of blood cancer, after undergoing a PET scan. Antonella was already showing signs of the disease; she had lost 40 pounds and felt tired despite a healthy diet and 20 hours of sleep per day.
Her full-body scan not only helped her find the lymphoma, but it also revealed that she had two lumps under her breast. The tumors were found to be cancerous after another biopsy. However, the breast cancer and her pre-existing lymphoma were unrelated. Antonella expressed extreme exhaustion while discussing her cancer discovery and experience in her YouTube video on February 14, 2021. She also stated that she would be treating her breast cancer and undergoing a bone marrow biopsy. However, no new information has emerged since then.
