Brooke Ence, an international fitness icon, and Marston Sawyers, a film director, were an outstanding couple in the fitness field. While Ence engaged in numerous events and competitions, the budding filmmaker caught the experiences with his camera.
Everyone was taken aback when news came that the couple had called it quits on their marriage.
In 2019, I filed for divorce
Marston Sawyers, Ence’s ex-husband, and she had been together since 2007, when they met at a Del Taco restaurant while the fitness expert was only 18 years old. They began dating soon after meeting and even maintained a long-distance relationship for more than two years.
By 2010, the two were working in tandem, with Ence competing in CrossFit competitions and Sawyers producing a dozen CrossFit post-production shows. They then moved to Santa Cruz in 2012 as a couple.
On August 9, 2014, the former couple exchanged wedding vows in San Diego. They continued to collaborate after the wedding, with Sawyers and his media crew featuring her in the inaugural Fittest on Earth documentary.
He recounted his experience working alongside his wife in an Instagram post from 2018.
“I eventually got the opportunity to show off my wife’s capabilities by putting her on camera in the Open Demo videos. Turns out she was really fit and by 2015 we’re featuring her in the first “Fittest on Earth” Documentary.”
Everything seemed to go smoothly between the CrossFit competitor and the Fittest on Earth director. However, in 2018, it was revealed that the power couple had split up.
The couple filed for divorce in the Superior Court of Santa Cruz County, California, on March 27, 2019. On June 26, 2020, the divorce was finalized.
Divorce, according to Ence, was an emotional experience
Many of Ence’s fans and admirers were concerned about her when she divorced Marston Sawyers and wanted proof of the split. While her worried admirers bombarded her with questions on social media, she responded to one message on her YouTube channel.
Divorce, according to the proprietor of Ence Wear, was a very emotional and personal experience.
She also stated that she was unable to provide an explanation for the “why, when, and how” of the separation because recalling those events would cause her additional anguish.
She ended her statement by requesting that everyone respect her personal life and, if at all possible, send her positive energies.

While Ence is requesting happy energies from her well-wishers, her ex-husband, Marston Sawyers, has moved on with someone else.
Caitlin Hansen, a KUTV reporter and broadcaster, is dating the film director. The couple shared a Valentine’s Day celebration in 2021.
The Brigham Young University graduate expressed loving words for her spouse on Instagram on the film director’s birthday. She captioned a photo of herself with Sawyers and their dog, “My world, all on a paddleboard.”
