Cal Thomas began his career as an NBC News reporter in 1960 and remained with the network until 1970. In 1984, he became a syndicated columnist for Tribune Media Services.

Thomas became a political contributor for Fox News in 1997. He was a panelist on Fox News Watch, a show that skewered the media on Fox News.

‘After Hours with Cal Thomas,’ a Fox News Channel show, was presented by Thomas until 2005. He also worked as a pundit on a daily radio show that aired on over 300 stations that same year.

From 2005 through late 2015, Thomas worked as a columnist for USA Today, an American daily newspaper, where he partnered with Bob Beckel.

Private life

Charlotte Ray Thomas was Cal Thomas’s wife. Unfortunately, his wife passed away on February 12th, 2017. She died in Falls Church, Virginia, at the age of 78, from a variety of health problems. In 1966, they married for the 51st time. Thomas met her for the first time at a musical theater. Ray Thomas, Cal Thomas’s wife, was a family therapist.

Together, they have four children and eleven grandchildren. Thomas currently resides in the Washington, DC area with his grown children. Marshall S Thomas, Thomas’s brother, died on January 5, 2012, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. Dementia and Down syndrome issues were the causes of his death.
