Chance the Rapper is an American rapper, producer, composer, and record producer from the Windy City of Chicago, who has been dubbed “the next big thing in rap.” Chance considers Kanye West to be his idol, as he was born in the same city as Chance. Chance rose to international prominence after being nominated for three Grammy Awards as a free independent artist, winning Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, and Best Rap Performance. He was also the first independent musician to be nominated for a Grammy without having signed with a major music label.
