Chip Ganassi won his first Formula Ford race when he was 18 years old. He has achieved success as a driver and as the owner of Chip Ganassi Racing since then (GCR).
After participating in approximately thirty motorcycle races, he became interested in auto racing, which aided at the beginning of his career. While attending Duquesne University, he worked for his father.
Floyd Ganassi Sr., who oversaw the FRG Group and served as vice president, may have passed on his father’s managerial and executive skills to him.
His father’s business was involved in real estate, transportation, and other fields. Ganassi also competed in amateur racing until 1981, when he won a regional event.
