Synopsis

T.O.P (Choi Seung-Hyun) is a South Korean rapper and actor best known for being one of the five members of the K-pop boy band ‘Big Bang,’ which also includes his rapper pal G-Dragon and singers Daesung, Taeyang, and Seungri.

Early childhood development and education

Choi Seung-Hyun, better known as T.O.P, was born on November 4, 1987, in Seoul, South Korea. He is of white Korean ancestry and maintains Korean citizenship. Choi Hye-Yoon is his older sister.

Seung-Hyun, a quiet and sensitive child, was so unhappy working with his peers that he frequently skipped school and returned home. He studied Musical at Seoul Art College and graduated with honors. In 2008, he graduated from Dangook University with a degree in theater and film.

Seung-Hyun was inspired to pursue rapping while he was in fourth or fifth grade after listening to American rapper The Notorious B.I.G. He danced and rapped alongside Kwon Ji-Yong, a neighbor who subsequently became his bandmate G-Dragon.

Career

Choi Seung-Hyung adopted the moniker TEMPO when he was a teenager and went on to become a well-known underground rapper after releasing the song Buck Wild and winning a rap competition.

Seung-Hyung then began dancing and rapping with Kwon Ji-Yong, as well as becoming a YG Entertainment trainee. Se7en, a senior YG artist, gave him the moniker T.O.P.

Seung-hard Hyung’s effort earned him a spot in Big Bang’s boy band, but his chubbiness was a deciding factor in his rejection.

Big Band Col. 1 was released by Seung-Hyung and his group, and it garnered mixed reviews. However, they acquired prominence after the publication of their EP, Always, in 2007.

In mid-2007, Seung-Hyung did some acting in addition to rapping and singing. Hello by Red Roc, a Korean artist, was his first try at a music video. Even, he began performing I Am Sam, a song from the series, for the first time.

Seung-Hyung then went on to star in a number of films and television shows, including Tazza: The Hidden Card, 19-Nineteen, Iris, Out of Control, and others.

Private life

Choi Seung-Hyun is now without a partner. He previously had an affair with Shin Mina, a Korean model whom he met through his sister and subsequently began dating. Despite their busy schedules, the couple was seen on covert dates.

There’s also a claim that Seung-Hyun has been dating Krystal Jung, a member of the k-pop group f(x), for the past two years. However, neither of them said anything about the rumor or about their relationship.

Seung-Hyun was charged with consuming marijuana alongside Han Seo Hee during his two-year required military duty in 2017.

Seung-Hyun was also admitted to the hospital after taking too much anti-anxiety medication. Following his rehabilitation, he appeared in court for the first time, pleading guilty to using marijuana in two of four incidents.
