Career and education

Donald Henley attended Linden-Kildare High School in Linden, New Jersey. Initially, he played football in high school, but his coach advised him to stop due to his small stature, and he later joined the high school band. He enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas in 1965. Donald then went on to North Texas State University in Texas, where he studied from 1967 to 1969.

Donald Henley formed the Eagles in 1971 and signed to David Geffen’s record label Asylum Records. They released their first studio album the following year, in 1972. ‘One of These Nights,’ ‘Desperado,’ ‘Hotel California,’ ‘Witchy Woman,’ ‘Best of My Love,’ ‘Wasted Time,’ and ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ are some of his best songs.

Donald Henley began his solo career after the Eagles disbanded in 1980. He had a duet with Stevie Nicks from ‘Leather and Lace,’ which was a Top 10 Pop and Adult Contemporary hit. ‘I Can’t Still,’ his first solo album, was a moderate success.

‘The Boys of Summer,’ his single, peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. His next album, ‘The End of the Innocence,’ was released in 1989 and was a huge success. The album’s title track was released as a single and reached No. 8 on the charts. Donald Henley released the single ‘The Garden of Allah’ to promote his greatest hits solo album Actual Miles: Henley’s Greatest Hits.

Donald Henley was involved in a legal battle with the record label Geffen Records for many years. In the year 1993, the company filed a $20 million breach-of-contract lawsuit. Actors should be freed from long-term studio contracts, according to a California law passed more than 50 years ago.

Their relationship was on and off for about two years. Later in life, he had a long relationship with actress and model Lois Chiles, with whom he broke up after three years.
