He was born on September 4, 1958, in Pasadena, California, USA. Morton Pinsky and Helene Stanton were his parents when he was born. Morton, Drew’s father, was a physician, and Helene, Drew’s mother, is a singer and actress.

Drew Pinsky received his primary education at Polytechnic School. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Amherst College in 1980 and his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1984.

Path and career

He began his career as a guest on a segment of Jim “Poorman” Trenton and “Swedish” Egil Aalvik’s Sunday night KROQ-FM show. “Ask the Surgeon” was the title of the segment. The segment was soon combined with “Loveline,” another Sunday night segment, to form its own show, which Trenton and Drew co-hosted. Drew Pinsky was dubbed the “Gen-X answer to Dr. Ruth Westheimer, with an AIDS-era, the pro-safe-sex message” after his appearance on TV and radio.

Drew Pinsky launched Dr. Drew Live, a nationally syndicated talk radio show, on November 27, 2007. On the show, he discussed a broader range of health issues. The show was produced by KGIL in Los Angeles and ended in December 2008. On January 5, 2015, he debuted a new weekday show on KABC in Los Angeles called “Dr. Drew Midday Live with Mike Catherwood.” He later announced that Loveline would end on April 28th, 2016.

Drew Pinsky first appeared on television in 1984 as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, but he did not win. Drew Pinsky also appeared on the first season of the American television show Big Brother in 2000 as a health and human relations expert.

Personal life and marriage

On July 21, 1991, Drew Pinsky married Susan Pinsky. He and his wife Susan currently reside in Pasadena, California. The couple is the parents of three children. Paulina Marie Pinsky is their daughter, and Douglas Drew Pinsky and Jordan Davidson Pinsky are their sons.

Drew Pinsky runs and lifts weights on a regular basis. He enjoys traveling and singing in addition to his profession. On the 27th of October, 2009, his father died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage. Drew Pinsky had prostate cancer but was able to recover after surgery in 2013.
