Eboni Deon grew up in the Midwest, where the seasons were extremely different. Since she was a child, she had a fascination with the weather. In recent years, Eboni Deon has found comfort in the heat and warmth of the south. She had a nice upbringing with her gracious family in her birthplace.
Deon was a gifted student who attended North Center High School in Indianapolis and graduated with honors. She proceeded to Jackson State University after graduating from high school and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
Eboni Deon later earned a master’s degree in geosciences with a focus on broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University.
Deon began her career at National Weather Network in Jackson, Mississippi. She then went on to work as a Radio Broadcast Meteorologist for The Weather Channel before becoming an on-camera meteorologist. She has also covered global weather issues for CNN International, including the terrible earthquake in Haiti and the Icelandic volcano, which disrupted air travel across Europe for days. She’s a member of the American Meteorological Society as well.
Deon began weather reporting for Al Jazeera America in 2013, where she worked on weekends. She also started as a part-timer in the mornings when chief meteorologist Nichole Mitchell was on reserve duty.
She is a mother of two children and is married. Eboni Deon enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs, Bradley and Mister, in her spare time.
