Fani Willis Bio

Fani Willis is an American attorney from the state of Georgia. She is the Fulton County District Attorney and the first woman to hold the position of Fulton County District Attorney.

Early Life, Age, Parents

Fani Willis was born on October 27, 1971, and will be 52 years old in 2023. From 1985 to 1989, she attended Regina High School. Fani gained volunteer experience through her work with We All Deserve Excellence (WAVE), which she joined in January 2016. She is still involved with the NGO that supports programs for homeless people, particularly children.

From 1989 through 1993, Fani earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government. During that time, she was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. She also holds a Doctor of Law degree in Law from Emory Law School (1993 to 1996).

Fani Willis’s Professional Career

Fani began her legal career as a contract attorney at “The Kendall Law Firm” from June 1996 until June 1997. For the next three years, she worked for another firm, Law Offices of Fani Willis, where she defended family law cases and children in Juveline Court, among other things.

She had her private practices while working for companies such as Fulton County District Attorney Office (for nine years) and Fulton County (for one year and two months), and she gave the company – Fulton County District Attorney – the best of her 17 years of life while working as Deputy District Attorney. She next ran for the Fulton County Superior Court Judicial Election, which took her five months. She lost the elections, but she remained devoted to her other legal position at the Atlanta-based firm.

She was then elected as the district attorney for Fulton County in 2020, defeating her former boss, Paul Howard Jr. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has had a nearly 24-year career in which she has gone through many trials, cases, attorney positions, and handled clients in civil, domestic, juvenile, family law, and criminal problems.

Investigations concerning Trump’s election are ongoing

The Atlanta-based special grand jury appointed to investigate Trump’s efforts to alter the 2020 elections has completed its investigations. Judge Robert McBurney agreed with the decision and stamped the two-page order issuing the final reports. The special grand jury will also evaluate or recommend whether the 2020 election and Trump’s decision to withdraw from the race violated state law.

Fani Willis, the district attorney for Fulton County, is responsible for making other decisions in this process, including whether to bring the panel’s findings to a conventional grand jury. On the other side, additional legal position holders, such as former Justice Department Prosecutor Andrew Weissmann and former US Attorney Barbara McQuade, are protesting against Fani Willis’s jury, bringing Trump’s election probe to a close.
