The great chef ‘Floyd Cardoz’ was killed by Coronavirus!!
After competing on “Top Chef,” chef ‘Floyd Cardoz’ won “Top Chef Masters.” Also, who owned popular restaurants in both India and New York, died on Wednesday as a result of coronavirus complications, according to a corporate statement. He had been 59 years old when he died.
He flew from Mumbai to New York via Frankfurt, Germany, on March 8. According to the statement, Cardoz was taken to Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, New Jersey, about a week ago with a fever and later tested positive for Covid-19.
Cardoz was also a partner in the Bombay Sweet Shop ‘O Pedro’ and The Bombay Canteen in India at the time of his death. In 1997, he co-founded Tabla with the Union Square Hospitality Group, managed by renowned restaurateur Danny Meyer. The Manhattan restaurant was hailed by critics. It closed its doors in 2010. His death was mourned by friends in the restaurant and television sectors.
Meyer described him as a “wonderful human being” in a tweet, adding, “Love you very much @floydcardoz.” Furthermore, the two had a 17-year history of working together. Cardoz’s new Indian cuisine, which combines the exquisite aromas and spices of his birthplace with Western techniques, was also acclaimed at Tabla.
