She was born Heidi Hudson Leick on May 9, 1969, in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, and is an actress, model, and yoga instructor. She is perhaps best known to the world for her roles as Callisto in the TV action fantasy series “Xena: Warrior Princess” (1995-1997) and Julia in the thriller film “Cold Heart” in 2001, among many other varied roles she has secured so far in her career.

Early Life

Hudson grew up in her hometown with her sister, but their parents divorced when she was 13, and the girls moved to Rochester, New York, with their mother. She began displaying acting skills at that point and enrolled in the acclaimed Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. She was steadily honing her acting abilities while also beginning her modeling career.

Career 

Hudson’s first modeling job came after she graduated from high school. When she landed a modeling position that took her to Japan. She then relocated to Europe, where she abandoned her modeling job to pursue acting. She made her acting debut in the TV series. Hudson was cast as Tracy Stone in the TV series “University Hospital” (1995). The same year also appeared as Shelly Hanson in the critically praised series “Melrose Place.” The next year, Hudson landed one of her most famous roles to date, as Callisto in the TV series “Xena: Warrior Princess,” and while appearing in only 12 episodes, her wicked character became highly popular, and Hudson became a rising star. She repeated her role as Callisto in the series “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” (1997-1999) and went on to have a successful career in the following years, appearing in the action-adventure “Chill Factor” in 1999 and the romantic thriller picture “Cold Heart” in 2001.

Hudson’s career has been on a downward spiral since the turn of the millennium.

In addition to acting, Hudson is interested in yoga practices. She has been a student and teacher at the Healing Heart Yoga Center for over 20 years. She is also a member of the California Yoga Teacher’s Association. In 2018, Hudson published her book “Healing Yourself Whole,” in which she discusses oil treatment.
