Joseph Morgan started his acting career in 2003 with the television film Eroica. Since then, he has found success as a vampire in critically acclaimed television series. He is best known for his role as Klaus Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries (TVD) and its spin-off, The Originals, on The CW.
Along with his success, he met his future wife on the set of the supernatural teen drama. He married Persia White, a TVD co-star.

White first appeared on TVD in season 3 as Bonnie’s mother, Abby Bennett Wilson. Morgan recalled their first meeting in the lobby of the TV series in an interview with The Associated Press in November 2014. The two had a brief conversation that turned into a 2-hour conversation. Morgan realized he wanted to learn more about White as a result of this. Soon after, the couple began dating for a few years before announcing their engagement in May 2014. On July 5, just two months after their engagement, the couple married in an intimate ceremony in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The couple only had 26 guests at their wedding, which took place at a private villa by the sea. They chose a location near the sea because they both love the ocean and grew up near it. They flew to Negril for their honeymoon and cliff jumped together. After all these years, the couple is still going strong. They recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary, which will be in July 2020. The actor took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to his wife. Morgan revealed in the captions that they had been together for almost nine years and that he is grateful to be able to share his journey with her.

From her previous relationship, the actress has a 25-year-old daughter named Mecca Morgan White. While Mecca’s biological father’s identity is unknown, Joseph Morgan has stepped up to become a father figure to his stepdaughter. He claimed Mecca as his own after marrying Persia. Mecca has been trying to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry, following in her parents’ footsteps. Mecca released her self-directed comedy short film Juice Truck in 2018 through her parents’ production company, Night Owl Productions. She was also named Best Female Filmmaker at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards.

The TVD stars do not have their own children. Regardless, they appear to be having a good time with Mecca, as evidenced by their Instagram accounts. Mecca had shared a wholesome post of the trio dancing and enjoying their time together on Thanksgiving last year.

Joseph Morgan and White co-own the production company Night Owl Productions. The company was founded in 2015 with the goal of developing bold and innovative concepts in film, art, and music. Their first film was a short film called Revelations, which is in the horror/thriller genre. This film enabled the couple to participate in festival circuits, which they had never done before. They also assisted their daughter with the production of her film Juice Truck.
They achieved enormous success with their film Carousel, which is about a criminal who has escaped death and is relearning how to live his life. Moran and White, as well as their daughter, appeared in the film.
