Nancy Giles, who was born on July 17, 1960, in New York City to an artist mother, inherited her mother’s acting genes. She is the daughter of artist and teacher Thomas Jefferson Giles and Dorothy Aileen. Her mother inspired her to pursue her passion. Nancy used to be a member of the Second City Touring Company. Not only that, but she also appeared in the 1985 Broadway musical Mayor.
She became a household name in the United States after starring in two ABC television series, China Beach and Delta.
Her career, however, did not take off after the series and has been limited to guest appearances on shows such as The Jury, Spin City, and Law & Order. Nancy, who stands 5’9″, has also worked with Erin Moriarty on two public affairs radio series produced by CBS Radio Network.

Nancy’s Parents: Tragic Losses

However, she lost both her mother and father in the span of ten years, with her mother dying of ovarian cancer in 1998 and her father dying in 2008. On April 16, 2012, she posted a tweet in which she expressed her condolences for her father’s death. A month later, in May 2012, she posted a touching message to her mother on CBS’s website, saying she missed talking on the phone with her mother and having a calming presence in her life.
