When asked if he had gotten a new cat, Adesanya responded that it had been given to him by his girlfriend.

“No, I wasn’t planning to get a new one but you know women,” he said, expressing his anguish over the death of his old cat.

In June, Adesanya will defend his title against Marvin Vettori

As first reported by Globo and confirmed during the UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs. Prochazka broadcast, middleweight champion Adesanya will defend his championship against Marvin Vettori at UFC 263 on June 12. This is a rematch from April 2018, when Adesanya came out on top in a split decision.

Adesanya won the interim middleweight title in an April 2019 bout with Kelvin Gastelum before unifying the belt by knocking out then-champion Robert Whittaker in October.

After successful title defenses against Yoel Romero and Costa, the UFC legend. He moved up to light heavyweight and became a two-division champion.

Jan Blachowicz, the 205-pound champion, defeated Adesanya in a unanimous decision. After his loss to Blachowicz, he declared his intention to return to middleweight and defend his title.

After a three-fight winning streak that includes a victory over Kelvin Gastelum on April 17. Many expected Whittaker to be given another shot at the title due to a lack of fresh opponents.

According to ESPN, Vettori received the call, ensuring a long-awaited rematch because Whittaker couldn’t be ready in time.

Since his split decision loss to Adesanya in the champion’s second Octagon debut. Vettori has wanted a rematch with one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport.
