Early Life
Jan Crouch was raised in the Christian religion as the daughter of a Reverend. She was a Pentecostal Christian. She was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. Her father was the founding president of Southeastern University in Florida and a pastor in the Assemblies of God faith. Her father and his writings had a strong influence on her, and she dedicated her life to Christianity and the Christian lifestyle.
Career
Her career as a broadcaster began in 1973 when she and her husband co-founded the TBN. It has grown to become the largest Christian television network in the United States, as well as the country’s third-largest over-the-air station group. It spreads a faith-based message to many demographics.
TBN’s five independent TV networks are TBN, JUCE TV, TBN Enlace, Smile of a Child, and The Church Channel. Controversy
She was once embroiled in a scandal after her granddaughter, who was a former employee and the network’s chief finance director, accused her of misappropriating network funds to fund her lavish lifestyle, which included private jets, massive wigs, expensive homes, and a $100,000 air-conditioned mobile home for her dogs.
