Early Years and Professional Career

Jimmy Walker was born on January 16, 1979, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and received his education there before enrolling at Baylor University. Prior to becoming a professional in 2001, at the age of 22, he was a member of Baylor University’s varsity golf team, the Baylor Bears, in Waco, Texas. In 2003 and 2004, Jimmy was a full-time member of the Nationwide Tour. He obtained his PGA Tour Card in 2005, but owing to injury, he only competed in nine PGA Tour events.

In his first full season on the PGA Tour, in 2006, he made nine cuts and finished in the top 25 of 21 events. As a result of his 202nd place finish on the money list, he was sent back to the Nationwide Tour in 2007.

He was called back to the PGA Tour for the 2008 season after finishing 25th on the Nationwide Tour. Despite a poor season, in which he missed 13 cuts and only finished in the top 25 of 24 events, he qualified to keep his card and play for the PGA Tour in 2009.

Jimmy finished 125th on the money list in 2009 with two top-10 finishes and a T5 at the Turning Stone Resort Championship, clinching a spot for the 2010 season. He qualified for the 2011 PGA Season by finishing 103rd on the money list once more.

In 2011, he had three 4th/T4 finishes, a 68th-place finish in the FedEx Cup standings, and a spot in the BMW Championship, the FedEx Cup’s third playoff.
