Professional Career

Jonathan started playing baseball in high school at Umatilla Secondary School, where his father was an assistant coach.
In terms of runs fought (84), copies (54), complete bases (414), and so on, he set the vast majority of the school records. During his secondary school career, he received numerous honors, including All-Sun Belt Gathering in 2005 and 2007, Sun Belt Meeting All-Competition Group in 2006, and so on.
In April 2011, Umatilla Secondary School retired Jonathan’s No. 6 shirt in his honor.
He played high school baseball for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns for many years, leading them to NCAA Regional appearances in 2005 and 2007.
The Milwaukee Brewers selected him as the 101st overall pick in the third round of the 2007 MLB Draft.
He made his debut for the Milwaukee Brewers against the Minnesota Twins in May 2010 and was a regular for the rest of the season.
In 2012, he agreed to a five-year contract extension with the option of a one-year extension for an additional $11 million. He was a first-round pick twice with the Brewers, in 2014 and 2016, and his 2014 season was his best, with 13 grand slams and a public alliance driving 53 pairs.
