People compared her appearance to young Tina Turner during the length of her youth and even into her fifties.

Louisiana State University was Baranco’s place of study. In 1971, she graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.

Professional Life of June Baranco

June was last seen running her millinery business, Geaux Chapeaux, in Westchester County, New York. The company specializes in custom-made hats, headwear, and bridal millinery. The term “geaux” is pronounced “go” in Creole/Cajun.

She collects old hats, textiles, hat blocks, lace, ribbons, and other accessories. She admitted that she frequently spent her spare time researching their creation. Gumbel’s former partner, on the other hand, is now focusing her entire time on hats and growing Geaux Chapeaux.

Her mission is to empower fashion-conscious ladies to display their uniqueness through vibrant headwear. Two of June’s hats made it through Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in 2018. One of the bearers was Adrienne Bankert, a former ABC correspondent.

Some of the Cajun’s hobbies include oil paintings, pastels, printmaking, drawing, pottery, stained glass, and clothing design. Bryant Gumbel and June Baranco’s Relationship

On December 1, 1973, the future long-time host of NBC’s Today and Baranco exchanged vows in a Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Catholic church.

June and Bryant first became friends in the late 1960s, when they were both teenagers. They met through one of her friends, who was dating Gregg, Gumble’s brother.

They originally met in Chicago, where they both had family. The summer between high school and college in June was when it happened. Despite coming from the same state, Baranco had never encountered anyone quite like him. They “had nothing in the bank but ambition” when they finally started dating.

Gumbel used to dwell in a modest apartment in Manhattan’s Upper West Side while pursuing a career as a magazine sports writer at the start of their relationship. June, who was from Louisiana, came to see him every now and then. Gumbel’s father met June on one of these times while taking her on a tour of Chicago and developed feelings for her.

They first bought a house in Woodland Hills, California, and then acquired another in Calabasas, California. They later purchased one in Manhattan for more than $3 million.

Children

Bryant and June had two children while they were still married: Jillian was born in 1983, and Bradley was born on January 1, 1979.

The alum’s children are now adults and have achieved great success. June’s daughter, Jillian Beth, is a fitness instructor who specializes in teaching athletes yoga, transcendental meditation, and mobility yoga. Jillian earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Sarah Lawrence College. June’s daughter, Gillian, is a mother of two children.

After high school, Bradley Baranco attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, but later moved to Manhattanville College.

Bitter Divorce of June Baranco and Bryant Gumbel

In 2001, nearly three decades after they began dating, the couple sought for legal separation. Gumbel’s final overnight stay with her, according to the former flight attendant, was on June 28, 1997.

Despite the fact that they didn’t divorce until after the turn of the century, their relationship had degenerated since the mid-1990s. According to some sources, June threatened to leave the Emmy-winning reporter in 1995. According to June, she celebrated her 50th birthday as well as their 24th, 25th, and 26th wedding anniversaries alone.

June Gumbel, Gumbel’s then-ex-wife, allegedly told the Washington Post in 2000 that he cheated on her throughout their marriage. June had discovered the letters, which each revealed his sexual inclinations.

Furthermore, images of her spouse having fun with other ladies have been exploited as magazine content for years. June had also overheard him talking to his girlfriend. Gumbel was rumored to be dating Hilary Quinlan, a former Goldman Sachs analyst who is now a model.

Settlement of Divorce

In August 2001, June was given the couple’s opulent Westchester property and Upper East Side apartment during the proceedings. She also acquired Gumbel’s half of his money.

However, Baranco turned down his request to share the Westchester property. She claimed that because it was close to his gold club and he wanted to take his lover there, The Trumpet Award winner requested shared custody. She remarked that it would have been unbearable for her because she had so many beautiful memories there.

Bryant has never publicly disclosed the reason for their divorce, although his ex-wife June has alleged that it was due to his adultery. She allegedly went on to say that the NBC host verbally abused her during their marriage. The 1988 Olympic host, nevertheless, denied assaulting his wife or children or denigrating the former.

Bryant Gumbel’s Current Relationship

Bryant and Hilary Quinlan have both moved on. She was both his lifelong friend and the woman the Peabody Award winner was developing a relationship with while married to June. They married in August 2002 at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. Only about 25 friends and some family members attended the ceremony.

June Baranco’s Relationship Status

In her typically expressive Instagram life, Baranco has discussed everything, from her love for her children, grandchildren, brothers, and friends to all of her artistic activities.

However, June, a mother of two, has not acknowledged her present marital status in any of these activities. She looks to be preoccupied with selling her headgear business as well as spending time with her grandchildren.

So it’s safe to assume that Gumbel’s ex-wife, June Baranco, is unmarried and happy on her own.
