Lisa Jane Vanderpump was born in London, England on September 15, 1960. She is a television personality, actress, author, and restaurateur best known for her appearances on reality shows such as “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

Early Life

Lisa grew up in London and developed an early interest in acting, which led her to enroll in drama classes. She made her film debut in the 1970s in “A Touch of Class,” playing the daughter of Vickey Allessio, who was played by Glenda Jackson. She later appeared in Alan Birkinshaw’s horror film “Killer’s Moon,” and over the next few decades, she worked mostly in guest or recurring roles on television shows.

During this time, she worked on projects such as “Silk Stalkings” and “Baywatch Nights,” in which she played the character Margo Curtis. During the 1980s, she also appeared in several music videos, including ABC’s “Mantrap” “Poison Arrow” and Naked Eyes’ “(What) In The Name of Love.”

Career

Vanderpump eventually branched out into business and took a break from acting, focusing on designing London-based bars and restaurants that she co-owned with her husband. They would eventually open 26 bars and restaurants, and four restaurants in California would be featured in her later reality television projects. She also wrote the book “Simply Divine: A Guide to Easy, Elegant, and Affordable Entertaining” and was an editor and contributor for the magazine “Beverly Hills Lifestyle.”

In 2010, she returned to television, making her reality series debut as one of the original cast members of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The sixth season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” follows the personal and professional lives of several women in the Beverly Hills area. She stayed on the show for a few more years, while also working on a three-year-old spin-off series called “Vanderpump Rules.”

The series follows her employees who work in the West Hollywood restaurants SUR and Pump, tackling their future as well as the workplace drama that occurs regularly. Lisa also competed in the 16th season of “Dancing with the Stars,” partnering with professional dancer Gleb Savchenko. Her time on the show, however, was cut short when they were the second couple to be eliminated, leaving her in tenth place. In 2015, she and her husband launched a line of luxury pet accessories. She launched her line of emojis called “Vandermojis” the following year.

Lisa Vanderpump is also a known supporter of the Keep Memory Alive organization. She also worked with various LGBT organizations and received the Equality California Ally Leadership Award in 2015. During the same year, she organized a protest march against the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival. She also organizes World Dog Day, which attracts tens of thousands of people and their dogs.
