Muhammad Kutty Ismail Paniparambil, better known as Mammootty, was born in Chandiroor, Travancore-Cochin (modern-day Kerala), India on September 7th, 1949.

He is well known for his contributions to the Malayalam film industry, where he has appeared in more than 400 movies. He has appeared in films in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, English, and Tamil in addition to Malayalam.

• Mammootty was raised in the Keralan village of Chempu, which is close to Vaikom. In 1979, he tied the knot with Sulfath.
• Dulquer Salmaan and Surumi are their two children.
