Professional Career

Beginning with a minor ice hockey group in 1998, he gradually advanced to the minor hockey group and later became the commander of the terriers, leading the team to their third Beanpot title in four years on their way to the Frozen Four Competition. On April 10, 2009, Gilroy was named the 2009 Hobey Pastry Specialist Grant winner.
While still with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, he signed a $3.5 million contract with the New York Officers on April 17, 2009.
Furthermore, his career took off in the years that followed, with contracts with the Tampa Sound Lightning in 2011, the Connecticut Whale in 2012, and the Officers in 2013.
Officers took him to a free organization, which prompted him to sign with the Florida Pumas for the 2014 season.
