Mike Bettes

Do you know Who is Mike Bettes?

Michael Bettes, born on January 9, 1972, in Tallmadge, Ohio, USA, is a storm chaser and meteorologist best known for his work for The Weather Channel in Atlanta, Georgia. He rose to fame in 2013 when he was one of six storm chasers killed by an EF5 tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma. Fortunately, he was unharmed, but his photographer and driver were not so fortunate.

Early Life

Mike grew up in his hometown and went on to attend Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in atmospheric sciences. Unfortunately, there is no other information on Mike’s youth, such as his parents’ identities or whether he has any siblings.

Career

As early as 1988 Mike found his first engagement, working for WSYX/WTTE as a weekend meteorologist, which lasted for ten full years before he was recruited by WLSO as a chief meteorologist. He spent the next five years honing his abilities and learning about his subject until receiving a life-changing call from The Weather Channel, where he became a field reporter. His job at the station grew gradually, and he was moved from the field to the studio, where he still worked as a reporter. From 2006 to 2009, he co-hosted the “Abrams & Bettes: Beyond the Forecast” show with Stephanie Abrams, and his efforts were recognized when he was named co-host of “Weather Center Live” in 2009, and from 2009 to 2014, he was a correspondent and fill-anchor for “Wake Up With Al.”

During these years, Mike rose to notoriety as a special reporter and storm chaser, covering all of the major storms that hit the United States, such as at El Reno, Oklahoma, when he and his team were trapped in an EF5 tornado that flung their SUV 200 yards into a field. Mike became fairly popular in the United States as a result of this occurrence, and fresh opportunities came his way. He is still on The Weather Channel, but he has a lot more work – he is the Morning Rush co-host, then “America Morning Headquarters” co-host, and can also be seen on Weather Underground TV.

Net Worth

Mike has worked for a variety of television channels, including NBC News and The Weather Channel since beginning his career. His work for national networks, however, has greatly enhanced his riches and popularity. So, have you ever wondered how wealthy Mike Bettes is as of the middle of 2018? According to credible sources, his net worth has surpassed $1 million, and his annual salary is close to $100,000, which is rather great, don’t you think?

Relationship Status

Mike has been quite candid about his personal life, revealing all the juicy facts with his followers. After several years of dating, he married Allison Chinchar in 2012, and they have now welcomed a son, Landen Benjamin. Mike was previously married to Stephanie Abrams, a coworker from The Weather Channel; the two married in 2000 but divorced after nine years. The couple had no children together.

Mike has grown in popularity on social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Twitter, though he is also active on Instagram. His official Twitter account has over 375,000 followers, and he has used this social media site to promote his work, tweeting photos from The Weather Channel sets as well as alerting of storms and tornadoes across the United States, among many other things.
