Robin Meade on Magical Husband, Married Life, and Family Connection

Robin Meade and her husband created magic twenty-four years ago, and it still exists. Her husband was smitten from the first sight. Miss Ohio 1992, a New London native. In 2001, she joined Robin Meade on HLN’s Morning Express as an anchor.

Once upon a time, Robin Meade’s future husband saw her for the first time in a college in Ohio. He knew she was the one for him the moment he laid eyes on her. His heart raced, his breathing stopped, and he knew, as if by divine revelation, she was the one. Two and a half decades later: Robin has been married to the same man for nearly 25 years, and they still talk about each other as if they were two smitten teenagers.

The Ohio native is best known as the host and face of HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade, a position she has held since 2005. Robin, in addition to being a journalist, enjoys writing and performing songs. She has two country music albums, Brand New Day and Count On Me, both of which include songs dedicated to her husband.

Robin was born on April 21, 1969, in New London, Ohio, and attended New London High School. She continued her education at Malone University before transferring to and graduating from Ashland University with a degree in programming and performance. In a recent CNN article, Robin revealed that her family, particularly her father, had to grow up in poverty, which has made her more sympathetic to the plight of the poor.

Robin Meade’s Career spans more than 17 years.

Robin began her journaling career as a reporter for WMFD-TV in Mansfield, Ohio. Later, she became an anchor for WSVN-Today TV’s in Florida, as well as the channel’s noon anchor and health reporter. She later worked as an anchor for NBC Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV and even covered the 1996 Olympics.
Robin began working at HLN in Atlanta, a CNN-owned cable network, in 2001. In 2003, she even hosted the channel’s coverage of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Robin has been hosting HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade on weekday mornings with Bob Van Dillen, Mike Galanos, and Jennifer Westhoven since then. Morning Sunshine! : How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It Too debuted in the section of the New York Times Best Seller list in 2009.

Robin’s marriage is also a long-term commitment in her life, in addition to her job with HLN. Robin and Tim Yeager have been married for over 24 years. In fact, they will be celebrating their silver jubilee in a few days, on November 6th, to be exact. The couple can also be seen attending events together. They have stood strong together through the ups and downs of their marital life. Their hectic work schedules have had no effect on their perfect marital bond.

Morning Express With Robin Meade, her five-hour-plus 6 a.m. program on HLN, requires her to balance her professional and personal obligations. Because of the circumstances, she has less time for romance in her love life. In retrospect, she stated in the Your Tango interview that her and her husband’s busy professional obligations kept her relationship with her busy husband fresh. Despite their work-life-personal-life imbalances, the couple managed to keep a positive attitude in the face of their lack of time. Not only that, but they were able to work out their marriage despite her hectic schedule – she worked as a reporter and anchor in Cleveland, Columbus, Ohio, Miami, and Chicago before landing at Atlanta’s CNN Center.

Robin’s married life is one of the few that reads more like a fairy tale than a true story. It has everything that makes a fairy tale: love at first sight, the bed of roses, growing old together, and, most importantly, love that is still new after a quarter-century.
