Sage The main host of SportsCenter On The Road is Marie Steele, an American television anchor. From 2013 through 2017, she presented the Saturday and Sunday editions of NBA Countdown on ABC for four seasons.

Early Childhood Development and Education

Sage Steel was born on November 28, 1972, in Los Angeles, California. She is 44 years old and the daughter of Gary Steele, who in the 1960s was the first African-American to play varsity football at West Point.

Sage attended high school in Colorado, Springs, Colorado, and Carmel, Indiana when she was younger. Sage earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sports communications from Indiana University in 1995, which she used to further her education. She volunteered throughout her spare time. Her first television reporting job was as a news reporter and producer at WSBT-TV, a CBS affiliate in South Bend, Indiana, from 1995 to 1997. She then served as a weekend morning sports anchor and weekday reporter for CBS affiliate WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana from 1997 to 1998.

The Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis 500, and Brickyard 400 motor events, as well as local colleges and high school sports, are among her responsibilities.

She worked as a sports reporter for the ABC affiliate WFTS in Tampa, Florida, from 1998 to 2000, with former WFTS sports director and current Sports Center host Jay Crawford.

Sage worked as a reporter for Fox Sports Florida, covering teams such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Lightning, and University of South Florida Bulls around central Florida. She then worked as an anchor and reporter for the local sports news program Sportsnite at Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic in Bethesda, Maryland.

When Comcast Sportsnet first debuted in 2001, she was one of the network’s first characters. At CSN Mid-Atlantic, she was the main anchor (2001-2007). She also beat out a Baltimore Ravens reporter. She subsequently joined ESPN and made her first appearance on Sports Center on March 16, 2007, a television show that talks about and examines the newest developments in sports including basketball, football, cricket, rugby, and many more.

Steele is a married woman with two children. Jonathan Bailey, her spouse, is a former personal trainer from her hometown, and they married in 1999. She has been happily married to her hubby since 1999. The couple is also the parents of three children.
