Simmons, better known by his stage moniker Rev Run, was born in Queens, New York, on November 14, 1964. He is the Run-D.M.C. band’s youngest member. Run-D.M.C. was created in 1981 by DJ Jason “Jam-Master Jay” Mizell and Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.

During their marriage, Simmons and Vaughn had three children and divorced in 1992. With a second marriage, they were able to move on with their lives. In 1994, Joseph Simmons married Justine Simmons and they had four children, while Vaughn Simmons married Alfonzy.

Vanessa, her first child, was born on August 5, 1983. Angela Simmons, her second daughter, was born four years later, on September 18, 1987. Joseph Simmons Jr., her third child and only son, was born on September 29, 1989.
Daryan Dani, her fourth child, was born on January 25, 1994. Dani’s father’s identity has never been revealed by her.

Tiffany Monet Vaughn, her fifth child from her second marriage, was born eight years later. Tiffany works as a cosmetologist and aspires to be a model. In June 2020, she graduated from Queens High School of Teaching.
