Zhang Ziyi, a Chinese actress, and model is one of the most well-known Asian actresses and is one of China’s Four Dan Actresses. Zhang Zhang Ziyi was born on February 9, 1979, in Beijing, China, to Li Zhuosheng, a kindergarten teacher, and Zhang Yuanxiao, an accountant and economist. She is of Chinese descent and of the Han ethnicity. Zhang Zinan, her older brother, was her primary caregiver.
Zhang began dancing at the Beijing Dance Academy when he was eight years old. However, she disliked the atmosphere at her school and once attempted to flee. The controversy surrounding Ziyi Zhang
Zhang Ziyi was caught up in a high-class prostitution scandal in 2012 after an overseas Chinese website, Boxun, reported Zhang made $100 million by prostituting herself to a string of powerful Chinese politicians, including Bo Xilai.
Zhang later won a defamation lawsuit against Boxun in a US court. The court ordered the Chinese website to pay her an undisclosed sum and to apologize to her on the front page. She also won a case against Apple Daily and Next Magazine involving the same false reports.

Wang Feng, a rock musician, is Zhang Ziyi’s husband. In May 2015, the couple married in a small family ceremony. On December 27, 2015, the couple welcomed their daughter Wang Xingxing into the world. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter as of 2018.
